Slingerland Expresso Kit

Loading...

Hi, first post here.

I have what I believe to be a Slingerland Expresso kit. All of the pics I have found show kits with "Jam Session" on the badge, which these do not. They have the traditional Black and Silver badge with serial numbers on each. Also, counter to what little I've found, these are not in a classic sparkle wrap etc, but in a natural color much like Walnut. Dark.

16" FT, 10" Snare and 10" Tom. along with two cymbal mounts. I don't have a hi hat stand with it though.

Does anyone have any detail on these? Although I can find similar pics, not show drums with serial numbers and all have the "Jam Session" logo on the badge. Also, none in a natural finish.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

So I've gotten a lot of views but not a lot of feedback and realized that some of that may be due to no pics. So I've got some here that might help. I am going to sell these. So if anyone knows of someone that might be interested, by all means let me know.

Thanks!

Wow! There's a lot of sh*t on that floor tom! Is all that hardware original to the kit? It must be one heavy puppy to move around with all that metal on it! Very cool kit. How rare are those guys? I know little about the Slingerland cocktail outfit offerings. Or -any- cocktail kit really!

Too many great drums to list here!

I don't think these little cocktail kits come up too often, but they are pretty cool. The link that was referenced above was my kit, which I had for a little while. Although I didn't care to play standing up, I wish I would have kept it and converted it to a tiny sit-down kit. The snare and tom actually sounded pretty good. I also threw a Powerstoke 3 head on the batter for the floor tom and it also made a pretty good kick drum.

John, all of the cr@p mounted on the toms is stock. 4 legs, 1 mount for the snare, 1 mount for the tom and 2 cymbal arms mounted.

Sorry for the delay in response to replies. This is how I got the kit. I have read that this was intended to be played sitting down. Although you'd probably sit pretty high, I can totally play them sitting on a high throne.

It isn't nearly as heavy as you might think. I can pick them up with the two cymbals and move them pretty easily.

I've reversed a DW7000 pedal to work with it. I am selling these to help fund another purchase. See attached pics. I picked up the 9/72 Rogers set locally. They've been in the bags just as you see them, for about 20 years. They sport their original batter heads and almost perfect chrome everywhere. The tom mount and spurs gleam. I haven't gotten them up and played them yet.

They pics are just how I got them. These have been a 20 year quest to replace an identical set that was lost to a fire 20 years ago. Can't wait to play them.

Thanks for the response. The set I had back in the 80's was a 6 pc set, and I'm almost certain the tags said "Cleveland" inside. These do not say which city but are marked 9/72. I have a 12, 13, and 16 toms and 14x22 bass. Also a SuperTen snare, which I don' t really care about if anyone is interested in buying it. I got the tom mount, floor tom legs and the spurs. As I think I mentioned earlier, original Rogers batter heads.

What, if anything can you guys determine from the info I provided? I need to make a specific post for these. I'll do that and put a link in another post.

Any info you guys have is greatly appreciated.
