That's a lovely kit, I love the configuration with the 12 x14 tom, I bought this a couple of weeks ago and am waiting on a friend to ship it over to me, very excited, straight out of the 1940 catalogue, even has it's cowbels and slip covers.

Those look wonderful~! I love the blue/silver duco colors. Very nice kit. :)

Reviving an old thread here but thought I'd share my Radio Kings purchased on this very forum from member Track (Chris) who shipped them all the way to NZ and packed them brilliantly. Great kit comprising of a 24" BD, 12" tom, 14x7 snare and 14" tom (added later) being used as a FT - I just need to devise a more elegant method of mounting it. I may actually have an engineering buddy make a cradle. The original calf heads are great but they go from loose and flappy in the morning to as tight as Cher's face by 3 in the afternoon:). Chris supplied a set of Aquarian Vintage heads for the toms and i have a Fiberskyn for the BD batter on its way so the calf will be preserved. You don't see many of these kits here, in fact I've never seen one here, so it's a bit of a privilege really.

Wow! Some really great looking sets! I thought I'd complete the story of my quest for the elusive matching snare. Finally found it a few months ago....

I sold a circa 1948 BDP 26,13,16 and matching 5-1/2 by 14 Solid Maple snare to Auckland to Neil Finn for use in his Roundhead Studios about 3-1/2 years ago....so,there is at least ONE other kit in NZ! Maybe 2 total?

Very cool set! Those were made right at the end of WWII. I have a Slingerland letter that explains the use of wood hoops with inlay on toms. Brass was in short supply during and right after the war, so things like brass hoops and cymbals would not be available until 1946-47.
