I'll add a history on mine as well.
I was 10 in 1971 when dad bought them out of a basement ($75.00). It was a father son project to get them looking better. The small lug units had a coat of red then blue paint over the gold wrap. Whoever painted it the first time used like 40 grit sandpaper and destroyed the wrap. Pulled it.
No regrets to this day, wood drums are cool with a wood finish.
The large lugs ones, can't say what they started out as. Badges are flush so never wrapped. Fire in the basement in 1978. Insurance paid for refinish on the shells. The various parts went into coffee cans and everything was in storage until I brought it to Spokane last year.
37 years later they will bang again :-)
