Just wanted to say "thank you" to all of you who provided input in response to my initial post as well as those of you who provided some positive feedback after viewing my most recent pics. I do appreciate it.

Got my first chance to play out with the kit last night. I was pleasantly surprised by the sound, especially for a kit that I got for almost nothing. I had never used Evans G2 coated heads before (since I always use Remo Coated Ambassadors), but was very happy with the results.

THANKS SO MUCH for the positive feedback, Christian. I appreciate it! The kit came with two rack toms (12" & 13") but I'm not a "2-up" guy.

The sets built by Yamaha in the 60s were good drums. Its too bad the stuff they built once they owned Rogers were not even close.

Great looking drums. Very high quality for imports at that time. One suggestion: Put that tom on a snare stand. While those early Yamaha double mounts have lots of working parts, they really choke the drums. It's that old diamond plate design- chokes 'em every time!
