I watch a lot of the instructional videos on rudiments and I practice
them as well.
I play in a bues/rock band, but find myself
mainly using single stroke rolls and triplets, at least conciously.
Can anyone show some examples of rock/pop drummers using
other rudiments? Thanks.

Among other things, you need a working knowledge of paradiddles if you want to play certain Bonham parts well (and get to a crash with your strong hand).

Swiss triplet: either; llR or rrL. The double is on the rack tom with the 3rd note (right hand) on the cymbal w/the bass drum following the right hand. I've played in three Hendrix/SRV cover bands, I can play this number in my sleep. Watch a video of Mitch playing it. The left, left, Right swiss triplet is used throughout.
I wish we were sitting across from each other with a drum kit. It's easier to show you what Im talking about than it is for me to describe it!

I don't have a working video cam. I'm trying to get the one I have up and running. The sound is terrible though. Makes drums sound like cardboard boxes. If I can get it going, I'll post up a clip. Manic Depression is one of those numbers where the drum part sounds good all by itself, even without the guitar/bass. If I get the camera going I'll post up a link here.

Again… I'm talking 'bare-bones' swiss triplet (for Mark's benefit that means… without the flam,) which is RRL or LLR.

But with your explanation, There seems to be at least not on the PASIC 40 essential rudiments a bare- bones swiss triplet? maybe you can show it to us somewhere in a rudiments book?
