1967-69` Complete Rogers Double Set in Pink Champagne Sparkle with Rogers Timbales

My 11 pc 1967-69` double Rogers set in Pink Champagne Sparkle with Rogers timbales.I originally bought this, with some help from the folks, as a six pc.(20,16,16,13,13 and cob dyna)then added a(20,13,13,and 2 timbales) in 1968 &69`.So they are all Cleveland/Dayton era with original receipts-my childhood kit so to speak.As you can see i have (4) 9x13 toms as i could only get that size in that colour in Canada in those days.Most kits of this size from that era have been split up or parted out so just nice to see they are still intact as one kit.Anyway... just wanted to share them with you vintage drum folks out there.Thanks for reading and for looking.

First, Welcome to the forums!

Now... man, that is one Glorious, Spectacular drum kit and it's in a wonderfully preserved condition. Kudos to you for taking such good care of them all these years. As a vintage drum lover, I see myself more as a caretaker than an owner of these great old instruments. I love em! Classic finish too. Not many like yours around my friend. Enjoy them.

Hi John-thanks very much for the warm welcome and i`ll be sure to check out your kits-it sounds amazing what you have.This was the first time since 1969 that this set has been out in full configuration so they were jumping for joy to get out of the boxes.I`ve yet to play them tho` as i need some new heads on some of them.Most still have there original heads.Thanks again my vintage drum friend...

Very carefully and i really don`t have the perfect answer to that question.Rogers of this era have one of the best tonal freqency tuning ranges of all drums.They were very well made and can handle a wide variety of tuning tork but i`m not sure about an octave apart?I haven`t played the full set since 1969 but i do remember them all sounding amazing and had a wide range of tone inspite of their 9x13 stature.Thanks for your kind words tnsquint.

Man that is a bunch o' Rogers goodness. So when put some new heads on her, I would love to know how you go about tuning them as tuning is a bit of a passion for me. It would be interetesting to note the discrepancy in timbre across those four. Perhaps that is part of the charm?

Again, you did a nice job of keeping those safe for all this time.

Welcome.

Your Rogers kit(s) looks awesome! :)

Not one, but TWO original one owner kits. If the majority of the drums have been stored since 1969, I bet there is zero fade to the wrap. To top it off, the wrap is Champagne Sparkle! It's one of the current top dollar wrap colors. Be careful with leaving the drums in a heated environment or in the sun. I've heard old wrap can crack/split due to temperature changes and we wouldn't want that to happen to your drums.
