My First Set??? Last viewed: 9 hours ago

Loading...

My first drum set was a Slingerland. Unfortunately I have no photos. I am trying to find what info I can

The shells are dated 1966 on the inside. The set had a 14x18 bass drum, 8x12 9x13 and 14x14 toms and a 5 1/2 x14 metal snare.

This set had some unusual features though. The floor tom legs were straight and had a button that when pushed allowed the legs to be adjusted. This set had no tom mounts, snare stands were used. Finally the bass drum had a tab that the pedal clipped into.

I know this isn't much to go on but any info is helpful

Thanx!!!

Slingerland "Jet" outfit. I dont know about the double toms but the flip down tab on the BD was what the "Jet" kits had.

The kit definitely sounds like the Jet Outfit. However, the 9x13 sounds like it was an add-on. Check this link... http://www.vintagedrumguide.com/images/slingerland_drum_sets/1967-slingerland-catalog5.jpg You'll notice that the bass drum is listed as a 14x18. By the next catalog, the bass drum was changed to a 14x20. Cool kit, though. I had a Jet with the 20" bass drum!
