The emerald green pearl Gretsch's are coming together

Hi all-

Came across these a few weeks ago. Got around to scrounging a tom mount and cleaning them a bit. What a fun set! They sound great and look even better! The band's just in love with them and the sound. My long suffering wife *really* likes them, and you know what that's worth! I was going to sell them, but I'm fast re-thinking that choice. And there's no added holes!.....

As I said before..

That finish is about the only one I have ever had where even non drummers say:

"Wow...what a beautiful color"!

"Always make sure your front bottom BD lugs clear the ground!"

Well, with the spousal endorsement (you bet I know what that means) I'd say you have another kit in your 'keepers' stack.

Those are real beauties!

What's not to love??? except that it's not an MIJ! (just kidding...you all know I love MIJs - just popping a funny!)

I can see how you can go from 'this is a great flipper' to 'I don't think I could part with her!'

Then there is always the wife thing.....if she likes them, it is very difficult to unload them! Good thing you didn't bring home a flipper (that you did not like) that your wife loved - that would be a mess wouldn't it!

John

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

Yep! Brought home a set of green sparkle Rogers that's been my usual players. She's always thought they were ugly. Thought my faux marble Radio Kings are kinda odd, but they grow on you. And you know, despite a tight head on the bass drum, the Gretsch's sound really good.
