I hope I can get a question answered about Ludwig drum key's. I have noticed that with Ludwig keys (WFL, Ludwig and Ludwig etc.) the stamped logo is on the left side...Was there a time when Ludwig and Ludwig placed the stamp on the right of the Mickey Mouse eared key? What time period if so. Thanks!

1920s.

Thanks Mike!
So I assume that if you have a "Mickey Mouse" key with "Ludwig and Ludwig" on the left side, that was manufactured later (than the 20's), thus that is why you always see them on the left today?
I'd like 2C one of those!
Will post a pic tomorrow, of both of them. Identical, but one logo is on the "right" ear, and the other is on the "left". Thus the question. I have had 5 in my time, but this is the first one I have seen on the "right".
Here is the pic, my assumption is that they just stamped them as they came along, not determining which side....or as I have heard in the forum in the past, "Must have been a Friday". :)

surface, very cool thank you for sharing this!!:o
Thanks! I thought it was very interesting!
Sorry to bring up an OLD thread, but a friend of mine today was looking at these keys. He asked me what the name on the side was (center barrel of key). I had never noticed this before, but the kid has good eyes! After a magnifying glass, the name is Stewart. Just curious if this a name of a company that manufactured these?

Nevin -- good to hear from you! It's been a while (although I'm guilty of not be real frequent on here myself!).
