Yes, a great looking vintage Slingerland "player's" kit! I'm sure they sound great, too! Your kit is set up the way I play my 4pc kits... with the cymbals in the same locations, too! Your snare drum appears to be a Pearl Free Floater with a custom shell?

The kit is from the mid 60's, so I'm guessing they are 3ply mahogany shells. That's a Pearl free floating snare, I got the snare as part of a trade, a previous owner cut the hole trying to replicate Orange County snare drums, you know, the ones with the giant holes in them.

Ya, they told us last year that she may show up, well she didn't, but her right hand man,(woman) makes an appearence every year and she even kinda looks like Eva Longoria, so, that was cool.

Thanks for the info JR. I love that deep mahogany tone. I'll have to google the OC drums, I haven't been into the drum scene all that long. Reminds me of a few Bugs Bunny lyrics...."peekin' thru the knot hole in Granny's wooden leg, who'll mend the fence when I'm gone"........

A lot of rock and metal players are opting for these drums as they are possibly louder but certainly more dry and really articulate. If you have been keeping up with current trends in speed metal and all the other sub genres that are out now you will see why. It is where music turns into an athletic competition. I am not dogging it but I listen to some of that and imagine the musicians looking over and saying, "because I can!"
