That is a nice early 60's kit. Your a lucky guy. Did you get a good deal?

There is nothing to removeing the hardware on that bass drum. I would go ahead and take all of it off and give it a good cleaning. Heck if it was mine I would take it off all the drums and clean the wraps like was suggested. They will look great. I would even consider leaving the rail mount off and using a nice snare stand for the Tom or get a new rail mount. That old red sparkle actually has glass in it. I have some if you want to remove that other mount and patch the hole.

Agreed!!! strip those lads down and clean me up! Don't over tighten the screws when putting lugs and hardware back on! Good luck!

That's a really great findCool1. I would imagine you got it for the price of an Evans drum set too. When I'm disassembling a drum for cleaning I tend to be retentive in the rear end by making sure that everything is done in particular order so that every nut, bolt and lug is reassembled the same as it was removed. For tension rods I don't really care since they've probably been moved around many times over. As ec_curtis said, don't over tighten the lug bolts on reassembly. You want them to be snug but not tight. If you go to far the wrap will split around the lugs.

I think I got a pretty darn good deal on it, but had to make a 2.5 hour round trip drive to make it happen. Totally worth it.

Thanks for the offer on the patch cover. Not that the wrap is a thing of beauty, but I fear a 1" circle of bright red might look more than a bit odd (if that is what you were suggesting). We'll see how it looks after a good scrubbing.
