Those are beautiful Radio Kings! Must be a cool kit to play. Bill Monroe the bluegrass guy? Or "The Father Of Bluegrass" as he's called?
Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

Here's my recent addition. 13", 14", & 22" bass, cut down from 26" by Bob Yeager @ The Pro Drum Shop years ago. Sounds great, and 22" works better for my gigs then 26" would have......

Eyeing your second floor tom. GC's got a 12/22 +14" snare in matching Faux Marble with those lugs I'm thinking I need to pick up. The drums in those colors are pretty scarce, even if the lugs wouldn't match. They also have a nice 3 piece in blue/silver duco for $499.00. Wouldn't be too bad to find a matching floor for those.
Haven't posted these in a while
Under repair at the moment but here are all of mine.
Large lug and oval badge to left and small lug no badge to the right.
Snare is Duplex.

Something about vintage wood finishes. If the marble gets past saving on mine, I'll probably head in that direction.
This promises to be a great thread. You guys always have mind blowing stuff.
My Radio Kings are, by far, my prized possession.
I bought this kit before I was old enough to drink. (Yikes!! As I type this I am realizing Ive had this kit for 20 years!! Mind Blowi)
The snare, rack and floor tom are all late 40's & the bass is early 50's.
I assume somewhere in its life, someone decided life is easier with a 22" bass drum.
The finish is a close match, it's the lugs that give it away.
It's never bothered me though, I've always referred to it as "The working man's Radio Kings"
I would, someday, like to find the proper bass drum, if anyone knows of one.
Looks great. Bdp's always a classic look.
You guys are killing us!!!!!! What a bunch of sweet tubes! All of them are kings!!!
Talking about RK's is it me or their prices are relaxing lately?. Like a couple of years ago you couldnt even think on owning a set and now I see them much more affordable. Maybe Im not good on keeping track of prices but thats what Ive noticed lately...Good for new RK's owners! I think this is the moment to grab one!
