Oy! What's with the painter's tape? Is that the strike-zone? That wet paper bag sound would prolly sound good with some C-toms. And, no. Breaking a stick does not a drummer make. You have to peel an index finger knuckle off on your snare rim, to achieve drummer status. ;-)

Really though, lose the tape. Maybe.......maybe, just a litte square off to the side, if your in the studio with a ringer.

Love the t-shirt reso. Personally, I'm a big head recycler, so I think; whatever makes it sound good - can't be any more unsightly than those little Moongel squares - what's up with that? Sure, they work, but honestly, the first time I saw that, I thought the guy's kid had left some toy bits on the drums...
