That's a nice one there! Your daughter did great finding that one! I have a similar drum, 3x13 in Blue Oyster Pearl. I had to replace the strainer on it because some of parts were missing. I wish I could find a complete one like the one on your drum.

I wish I had a blue oyster snare to go with my blue oyster super classic!

By the way this drum sounds awesome, I am loving it!

If I ever decide to sell it ill let you know. It's a pre-serial keystone and I dont use it much at all. sometimes I wanna sell, and then I talk myself out of it.... who knows, maybe one day i will.

And I bet you found one already too!! :D Laughing H kidding ya a bit...or am I? Hmmmm :)

I hope to find a matching snare for my Slingerland LBP kit one day. A nice solid maple artist would do me just fine. :)

Here's that drum Jeff! It's a pre-serial keytone badge 3x13 inch piccolo. Bottom rim is original, top is a replacement- but matches. does not have a muffler inside, but there isnt a place for one. No extra holes in the shell. The wrap is nice, no cracks or warping etc. The strainer is a replacement. I kept the original strainer that was on it, but it is missing the tensioner and the piece that it screws into.

Anyhow, if I ever decide to sell it, Ill PM you.

Justin, thanks for sharing. Its a beauty! I just love that old blue oyster wrap and yours is in really nice shape. Those old piccolo snares are so cool, it was the last think I expected to get for Christmas Il tell you that.

Thanks again!

You must cherish that drum forever. Not only because it's from your daughter but it's also a beautiful example of a piece of history. Being new at the drumming game I don't recall seeing that particular lug before. What are they called?

You're a lucky man, be proud!

In the catalog the drum is called a downbeat snare, Im not sure what the lugs themselves are called but good question

Thanks everyone for the nice words!

I have always called the lugs "offset lugs".... I dont know if that is the correct term, but it works for me!
