Rogers all done,... Last viewed: 6 minutes ago

Hi Folks,

Here's the Rogers in Blue glass glitter I picked up last week.

http://www.vintagedrumforum.com/showthread.php?t=33620

Sizes: 22", 16", 13" & 12".

Bass pedal and hi-hat stand were included.

The Dyna came from the same source.

Bottom hoops are not original as a couple of t-rods.

The drums sound wonderful and the set is in great shape. Edges and wrap look great. The BD double tom post has a bit of damaged chrome and 1 tom mount needs to be replaced.

What still puzzles me is the fact that this type of 9/72 paper tags would indicate that the set is mid 70's but according to the brochures, Rogers didn't offer the Blue Sparkle Pearl after 1971,...?

Any ideas ?

Well maybe they had some blue sparkle left over, I don't know. I do want to say how I like the Blue sparkle. I know its very common but it looks greay I think. Nice drums, I have a xp8 kit Im working on, its my first Rogers kit and looking forward to playing it.

Thank you!

Thanks Fellas,

The blue glass glitter does look great and in reality the color tends a bit more to a darker and slightly more reddish tone.

I'm waiting on a new set of web-ordered Coated Ambassadors.

For now all toms have the Remo CS black dots on top and clear A's on bottom. The floor tom souns phenomenal but the toms sound rather dead and very eighties. Not much to say about the bass drum as long as it has that huge hole in the (original) front head.

Very nice Stedi,

did you find them "over there"?

I had a set just like it (same color/sizes) in around 1973,but mine were flat grey Clevelands...had matching wood Dyna, bongos, cannister throne too!Burger Kin

Wow, must have been a killer set !

I found this set in Holland.

The good news is that there's even more where these came from,...

Super cool, Stef. With all the kits and snares you have now, you can open up a shop! The real question is...which one will I convince you to let me use next time I am out your way? Hmmm.... Cool Dude

The 1970 catalog showed Blue Sparkle, but the 1973 catalog did not. The 1970 catalog was in use until the 1973 catalog came along, and Blue Sparkle was offered until that time.

Nice drums!

I'm currently in the process of restoring a Blue Sparkle kit for myself...
