Rogers Identification please. Last viewed: 7 hours ago

Hi Folks,

I have the opportunity to pick up a Blue Sparkle Rogers set.

Rogers script logo's and double Swivo tom holder.

Sizes: 22", 16", 13" and 12".

The kit is in great shape.

I only have a picture of the interior paper tag for the moment.

All shells have serials in the range of 59***.

Someone has any idea about the manufacturing date and what model model it could be judging by the tags and sizes?

Thanks!

Oeps,.. I think I figured the date out myself.

The small letters say 9/72.

Would it still be a valuable set knowing it's probably not from Rogers' most sought after period.

Thanks

Thanks Mike,

I will try to get some pictures.

I saw the set but didn't have my camera with me.

The potential seller could only provide me that 1 interior shot for the moment.

I'm new to Rogers so everything I know is from what I've been reading the past 24 hours.

It's a Blue sparkle set and it's in amazing clean condition.

All chrome is superb and no extra holes or major issues.

All the hardware is Swiv-O-Matic.

All shells have script logo, the 12" and 13" had the logo on both sides.

At first I thought it was a 1960's set but from doing some research on this great forum, I've learded from the small 9/72 paper tag that the set is more likely Fullerton early 1970's.

A ball park figure would be highly appreciated so I don't overvalue it.

You are correct regarding the 9/72 series dating to the early '70s. But since your serial numbers are not underlined and do not contain a prefix letter (either A or B), this blue sparkle set is most likely 1975, the last year of the swivo hardware before the transition to memriloc hardware. However, I don't recall the blue sparkle finish being available from Rogers after 1972, so this is really curious. First thing you should do before purchasing is verify that this is not a rewrapped set.

Try to get some pictures posted. A lot of Rogers fans here to help you evaluate a fair market price on this set.

OK Fellas,

The seller, a real stand up guy, was kind enough to send me a couple of shots.

I did a quick inspection myself when I saw the set last Monday and I'm quite positive it's not a re-wrapped set.

The hardware is also included in the deal.

From the same person I bought a super clean Big R 5" Dyna last week.

Give me your thoughts.

So the pedal and high hat are included? What about that single tom arm sitting on the chair behind the bass? Not a bad looking set. Finish looks nice, but there seems to be some rusting and pitting on the double tom post.

It may not be a museum piece, but it certainly looks like it's worth picking up for a decent price.

Looks like original wrap to me. I like the color blue. $600-700 asking price would be my guess. Care to divulge?
