1960's Pearl President Kit

Loading...

Hey, please let me know if you still have the blue sparkle pearl president drums.

Please post more pics of the inside of the shells. I would like to know if they are wood shelled or a fiberglass/plastic like material (an unnatural dark brown).

Thanks.

Here are some more pictures. My theory is that its a 68 set with some 67 left over parts. The wrap seems to be #7 Tigers eye from 68, the set also looks just like the #45 Challenger from that same year except for the badge and lug [Attachment: 29882][Attachment: 29883][Attachment: 29885][Attachment: 29886][Attachment: 29887] (I found all this info at the Vintage drum guide sight). From people posts the diamond lugs may be 67ish left over stock?? The tom mount is seen on the #45 Challenger set and I have not seen that kind of mount on newer models. Now the badge I have not found except in this forum talk. It is what you say is a 69-73ish style. Thanks for the help

I have those, but with the red P badge..., I love them.

Hi there, here are some pics of my Presidents ( drums only) that I bought from a music store for 180.00. It has red oyster wrap that is not too common from what I have learned on this forum. Blue sparkle might be the most common finish of all. Drums are hard to sell right now thanks to our economy so I doubt you will get 400 for a shell pack. If it was me, I would get the bass drum that you have a lead on and play them. If you dont play then, sell them. Good luck to you!

As I always tell you- Presidents are collectors items- keep them intact and eventually a real Pearl historian/collector will scoop them up from you. That kit would sell for a minimum of 800$ here in Japan- very nice kitD' Drummer

Which kit are you referring to? The blue sparkle? I am not a “real Pearl historian/collector” My opinion is based on my personal purchase.

Thank you!

Oh, Okay thank you. I love the drums, play them every day. I think I was very lucky to get them for the 180.00. If I could get 800 here in the USA I would have to think about it.

By the way I love your qoute

The shell in pic (inner) is made of phenolic resin. Different from FG.

Phenolic is that deep red color. FG is more of a speckled flesh tone.

I like the look of phenolic.

Thanks for clearing that up. Looks like my kit is the phenolic.
