RogerSling...you and The Ploughman seem to understand the situation at hand quite well. The drum is really now a 10 lug PowerTone...it can never again be a Dyna. Having said that, I offered to work with this guy since he can't afford to offer a refund. When he told me he wouldn't take the drum back, I resigned myself to keeping it and sent the drum to Jack to see what he could do with it. Rather than putting this guy under duress for a full refund I asked for what I believed to be a reasonable offset given the condition of the drum which, for whatever reason, was not disclosed. I'd like to put this behind me, and I hope he does too...Thanks to both of you for your comments...much appreciated.Bob

You're a nice guy, Bob.... really good having you here.

Hey Kev.

Thanks again!

Well, this is very interesting and just as I expected, all the experts think the drum is useless, the guys who actually play know it doesn't mean squat. For the record, I had no idea the beds were cut, if anyone had concerns they could have asked me to look. Regardless of what they say, this is an authentic Rogers wood Dynasonic made by Rogers in the U.S.A. Like I said, If the drum had no issues I would had put on ebay and gotten a lot more for it. Be happy, it's still a great drum.

I won't address the obvious here as that's been done to death. Instead I will say this: cut snare beds on a Dynasonic ruin it as a Dynasonic. You don't have to know what a drum key is to have the freekin' sense to realize that. Dynasonics are special drums, and it's precisely the snare cage and mechanism and bed that MAKE it a Dynasonic. Two minutes in a Google search would give you that much. The fact that you're blowing this guy off and telling him "Be happy, it's still a great drum" is morally reprehensible. You owe this man a full refund and anything short of that is ... we all know what it is. You should be ashamed of yourself for taking this very immature path.

Your comments here and on the other two threads are a beacon as to who you are as a seller. If anyone does business with you after this ... they deserve what they get.

Shame on you.

It looks like the price to "keep the peace" has gone up a hundred bucks from $200 to $300, that is cheap JR, if you want to keep selling drum stuff here.

Seems Crusin' is being more than fair with you by not asking for a full refund & sending the drum to a fella who knows a thing or two about drums to see what he can do with it. Maybe $300 will cover that.

Do the right thing man.

Knowing you have multiple items on here for sale, It's probably worth it to do that just so people will buy from you on here again. Not trying to get in your business, but these little things can spread like wildfire

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the VDG title is awarded here simply by the number of postings.I know what I like and can offer some useful knowledge, but when I hit the magic number, I still won't be an expert.

LOL.

I PM'd David a couple years ago and asked him to specifically NOT allow my forum rank to escalate with postings, as that would be a misrepresentation of my actual vintage drum prowess......Falling Do I will always be Private or Member or whatever the lowest rank is, and that is plenty fine with me!
