I was offered 40,000.00 for this snare still get emails from the guy today upping his offer..I have NOT or will not sell the drum..I would never to able to get another one..Now when it comes to your set if the finish and sizes are not rare i would sell the set.Buy another one and make alittle cash on the deal.....Mikey
Have you been offered a lot of money for the only drums that you dont want to sell? Last viewed: 2 hours ago
Vinny,
Put the kit on eBay. It may pull more than 5k. There are a lot of variables...i.e. serial numbers, condition, originality, etc. I have watched these "Bonham" thermo-gloss pieces on eBay for a while. All of these items can influence how high it could go.

Ringo!
Lets see the pics, Mikey!
If the buyer sees it on eBay and it doesn't sell, the deal may be gone. If there is no evidence supporting that you should expect more than $5K, it is not reasonable to expect more. These days you can get two very fine drum sets for that money.
I wish I could get someone to offer me a lot of dough for some of my kits, several of them are very rare. I generally get low ball offers. Cash gives you flexibility. If you have enough, then play what you like. If it gives you freedom that you otherwise would not have to add to your collection, then you may never see that high an offer again. I sold two wood Dynas and the proceeds got me an off the hook cherry wood Craviotto kit. The market on those snares has since trended down. Worth considering is that I don't love playing wood Dynas, so a large chunk of change in bags on a shelf didn't seem like the best deployment of capital and I love my Craviotto kit.

At some point it becomes a business deal...years ago a guy "HAD TO HAVE" one of my 5 original 1920s L&L gold plated Triumphals...so I told him that for me to even consider selling one of my prized Triumphals that we would have to go down the "very stupid money road"...he agreed and there you have it...
So quote "your" price and test the waters...

Yep. I have a signed cd from talking to Paul (McCartney) on Rockline. I'd want six digits to ease the pain of parting with it's "value" to me. Many here are now laughing over that price, but it's MINE. ( Besides, I'd use the dough to buy ad space asking Paul to replace it!) I truly hope circumstances have not left you vulnerable on such a sentimental possession. Good luck!

Value is such a Wiley beast to pin down.
I had a Rolling Stones album signed by the band (including the dearly departed). Not being a Stones fan, it meant nothing to me. The reason I held on to it as long as I did was because one of them wrote "The Stones are better than the Beatles" on the cover. It cracked me up and was a conversation piece for many years. I gave it away to a friend who actully liked the band. Made his day for sure.
Don't do it.
A) The likely-hood that you'll find a kit anywhere close to that again are slim to none.
B) Years down the road, you'll watch the video you made of your daughter playing it and cry for more reasons than just having your baby girl grow up.

There was a Thermogloss Bonham kit on e-bay a couple of weeks back I don't think it lasted more than a couple of hours. I have no idea what it brought.Did anyone see it? I don't have to tell you how rare those kits are in those sizes. Unless you really need the money I would hold on to it. just my 02.
