Slingerland WMP Kit 1965? Last viewed: 7 hours ago

Loading...

Thinking of picking up this Slingy WMP kit and I'm being told it was made in 1965. The Tom mount doesn't seem right to me but I really don't know. Anyone want to venture if this is authentic? Any other tips?

Hard to tell from the pic re the drums, but tom mounting is not 60's vintage thats for sure.. can you get hold of a larger pic?

Cheers

Here's a close-up of the Mount. They are telling me it's a '65 based on the serial numbers but that seems pretty unreliable.

In addition to the Pearl-style hardware, the black and silver badges are the giveaway.

Run away.

What is the asking price? I'd leave those people a strongly-worded piece of my mind.

Those mounts look similar to Slingerland's HSS-era mounts circa 1990-1994.

From OldSchool

Those mounts look similar to Slingerland's HSS-era mounts circa 1990-1994.

I Considered that too, but didn't the HSS Slingerlands have a large logo incorporated on the mount..

Cheers

(also it originaly was fitted with a set o matic going by holes in the toms)..

Player's kit at best. Kick and both toms severely compromised with large post holes drilled - rule #1 of what NOT to do to vintage drums. Asking price should reflect this.

Seller now says he thinks the kit is from the 70's with the Snare being from the 60's. Tom mount is a Pearl.

I'm going to pass on this. Thanks for everyone's help!

Here's the link if anyone is interested.
