Price Check Isle Number 9.....Ringo! Last viewed: 57 minutes ago

What would you pay for a complete, nice, all original 1967 Ludwig Hollywood kit in Black Oyster with no snare? No major problems. Nice chrome. Not mint, but very nice.

A friend of mine has one. Wants to sell it. I wanna offer something fair. Go!

Adam,

I don't know if this helps or not, but I sold a kit like it last summer for $1099 plus shipping (a BIN on eBay). 14x22, 16x16, 9x13 with 1966 keystone badges.

Now, here's the catch... it was one of my rewrap jobs. So the wrap was new and the interiors and BD hoops repainted. The hardware was in at least 7.5-of-10 condition. Resonant heads on the toms were original, batter heads new. Front BD head was a 70s Ludwig weathermaster that I put a reproduction 60s Ludwig script logo on.

I described it as a "Ringo Reproduction" and encouraged "lookers" to check prices on the new Ludwig "Liverpool Legacy" drums. My 33 year old son thought I should have put "The Beatles" logo on the front as well, but I didn't...

So, I really don't know if this is like comparing "apples to oranges," but would imagine actual value of what you described would not be cheap...

this is my take on the ringo color holly wood as the color is rare obp i have to say do to economy that it was not what it was, i just picked up a real nice clean kit in obp and the guy was at 1 k for price with snare if this is ur freind id say between 750 and a grand would be fair if all hardware is there up add 100.. if cymbals are there 200 more so on a high note as if it looks in the cat, if all is there 1200 to 1400 would be real high end 800 to 1100 fair between buds if your going to flip it then cheaper is better but the more bucks u spend you 'll sit on them for a while there's a kit on feebay the buyer cant get 1000 $ for them so there you have it good luck

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

Where do you see an original keystone obp Hollywood kit on eBay that someone can't get 1K for? I see a bowling ball with 4 days left. I see a 67 floor tom that just went over 1K by itself. I see a rewrap in Ringo sizes that went for $2K. I see a dumpy superclassic missing 1/2 the hoops that sold for 2K--granted that's the rail mount Ringo style...

I'd think 1K is ballpark for a blue oyster Hollywood, but black? I'd think anything under $1500 would be insulting considering that floor that just sold for a G. Obviously the kit is worth more split up and I'm not talking about resale here. Just fair price. I'd feel like I stole it if I paid $1,000.

Yeah, I saw that Ringo rewrap go the other day, too... but have selective memory at times, so I had forgot. I guess I didn't get enough out of mine.

Oh well, that's not the issue here. Since it's a friend, I'd just show him the info you have available. Then let him know what you can afford. It'll work out I'm sure...

Hey, maybe you've got a car or something he needs and you could work out a trade...

my #'s reflect that sentiment... as always obp is the rarest and most popular color out there due to Ringo and be careful mistaking some kits for bowling ball there are some later generation obp wraps that are legit just not as transparent as early kits but dont mistake them for bowling ball as bowling ball has no variations and no transparency

Ha! Totally! I'd think he could get 2K for it. Just wanted to see if orhers agree. Obviously it depends on lots of variables. There is a 70s Super Sensitive involved too. Personally I'm not a huge fan of black oyster...but...Probably a good investment anywhere under $1500. Would you agree?

I know this will not be a help, but your question was: "what would YOU pay for...?".....well with that said, I wouldn't pay more than $500 for it, but I'm a cheap so-and-so....LoLoLoLo

I don't think I'd pay much more than $750 for it either honestly. I saw the kit and it is easily a $1500-$2000 set of drums to someone in love with obp, but personally I'd rather have blue sparkle than black oyster. It just doesn't do it for me. I offered some advice to him on what he should be asking for it based on condition which is about 7.5 out of 10. Hardware has some pitting, but the shells are NICE. No ex holes. Complete! Here's hoping he gets a fair price!
