Just picked up this nice 1967 Acrolite along with its Club Date Family. Yep, a full matched kit! Pics to follow.
The interesting thing on this drum is the personally initialed date stamp...
Jan. 1 1967.
We know that after the The Beatles Sullivan splash, Ludwig took on three shifts to keep up with demand.
My question, to all you Luddy lovers and experts out there (you know who you are) did Ludwig have a work shift on New Year's day? Was the demand that high for drums that Jan. 1st had a work shift and Ludwig workers were denied the Rose Bowl? Say it ain't so!!! Where was the union? Was there over-time pay for Jan. 1st?
Was Bill Senior a slave driver?
A good question for you history detectives out there ;)
