The Most Expensive Drums Last viewed: 48 seconds ago

After seeing Buddy Rich's Fibes drumkit on Ebay with a BIN of $50,000 I just have to ask this question of everyone out there: What was the most money you ever seen a drumkit/drum sell for or even heard of selling for?

Mr. Moon apparently?

Bozzio's kit has to cost a pretty penny as well.

Michael Shrieve's original Woodstock set should be offered at sometime in the near future. Thinking that may top any of these sets by several times. Rumored figure (from very reliable source) is said to be 6 figures.

I have sold many expensive drums over the years..The most expensive one was a L&L 5 piece Top Hat & Came set complete with cymbals and even the sticks condition was a 8+ out of 10 sold it for 35,000.00 Mikey

$252,487 for Moon's kit is still apparently the most expensive. Not my personal expectation, but that does support the facts ... so far. My guess is IF Ringo or his family EVER decide to part with kit number three (with that matching very special snare), that might tilt the scales into unreal realms.

You guys need to read some of the comments that are tagged along with this link...a couple guys arguing wether Keith Moon or Neil Peart is the greatest R&R drummer ever. My favorite is the guy saying:

"First of all Keith is dead. Peart continued to influence and rule the world of rock drumming. Do a google search and you will see his name and obsessed followers everywhere. This is not 1976. Come back to the 2000s for a second."

HA! HA! HA!

Everybody with any sense knows that Tommy Lee is the greatest R&R drummer ever!...you just can't account for stupidity!LoLoLoLo

OK-OK! Sorry!!!...I'm a newbe...just trying to add a little levity.

I did see a kit advertised on the Bay last year for $1,000,000.00! It was a Ludy, Bonham size kit (If memory serves me) in amazing condition, but it was a spoof portrayed by someone protesting the eBay fee hikes, or so I heard. I can't remember the sellers online name, but he does a "Redneck/Hillbilly" Act on the Bay & does remarkably well!

I don't understand. Where can you read comments that are tagged along with this link? I didn't know we could comment on posts without actually adding to the thread.
