Yeah! That's were I found all of my photos. Those seem to be just about the only photos that exist out there on the interwebz. These and a couple of snares...

Well, I've contacted just about everyone I can think of or know to contact. I'm working with someone who works closely with Delmar and we have a plan. Obviously it is far too expensive to actually try and recreate it with Acetate, etc. for just a few sheets for one drum set. I'm an illustrator, so I will try to come as close as I can through custom printing a color and textures over a ripple or oyster backing. I'm waiting for test prints to come back right now... but here was the first 8X10 graphic I created using just photographs as reference. Now that I will have an actual drum to look at, I will tweak this image to get even closer. (looks like I could add some more white/cream)Or I may see the real drum and decide that I like my test prints better than the original... or not.. haha.photo of original[Attachment: 27572]my 1st recreated image for test print[Attachment: 27571]

Wow, what an idea! I figured that technology has come a long way in printing, but I never thought you could actually pull this off. Can't wait to see what you come up with. You might have stumbled on a great idea for a sideline business to do close recreations of those weird finishes that will never be available again. In fact, I might order three sheets of Fantasia Pearl over Delmar WMP from you!!

Actually that looks pretty easy to do. Are the Black "swirls" opaque, or can you see pearl through it? I'd be very interested in recreating this for you. Can you get a good close up, hi res photo so I can see the color. Has the WMP aged and yellowed a bit? I love the aged look of the WMP. You could go right over WMP or even a custom colored (subtle off white aged) WMP.

I'm also in the process of working on some "Ludwig" Red Strata for a friend.

Getting closer... I actually have a sample of the real wrap to scan now. I haven't do that yet.

Here is a small 3X3 swatch of my PhotoShop image.

Awesome! That kit looks amazing. I'm in the process of procuring one myself... Maybe not quite a perfect as that kit (and no Floor Tom). So, while I love this wrap... it may give me the freedom to be less accurate and maybe come up with something not as close to the original for the kit I'm building...
