Rogers snare identification??? Last viewed: 2 hours ago

From bigz

I think that particular kit IS overpriced for the reason stated above - it has BnB lugs on it. Ive owned a english rogers snare with those on, they cracked and made it almost impossible to tune. If you are lucky enough to find one of the last UK kits, itll have the better beavertail lugs fitted.

If I was to make the guy an offer how much would you advise? I'm happy to restore the kit and I'm not too bothered about originality lug wise etc as long as the kit had a nice vintage sound. I'm sure it would be better for the money than a modern Chinese made kit??

Peacock-suit,are you a Weller fan by chance?I have sold lots of vintage gear to Steve White,if you are.....Blair

Massive Weller fan yeah :D. Also a Steve White fan. I grew up listening to Oasis and think his brother is massively under rated. Iv learnt a lot from them both growing up.

Would other lugs fit without re drilling?

Cool.............

I have met Steve 4 times>(twice Chicago/twice Detroit),and the Modfather twice >(Chicago/Detroit)...

Also, met Alan twice, and got to drink with him both times after Oasis shows!>(Detroit/Chicago)

Alan bought a Rogers WMP tom from me in Chicago, and it's shown on the cover of a EP......can't remember which one though......Don't look back maybe?

Also sold him a 24" A.Zildjian from the 1950's he used on tour, and in the Familiar To Millions VHS tape in front of 60,000 people at Wembley over 2 nights.............it's really featured on the 3rd song on the tape. Hard to miss a 24" Ride!

Alan lives in Spain now, last I heard.............

And now,..........back to our regular programming!

I was at that gig! Wembley stadium second night :D. I was about 14 or so I think. I had the DVD and the CD. Oasis really missed his style when he left I think. Bouncy groove but mega tight. He was great live.

I saw Steve White once playing with Weller in the mid 00's. Iv seen him twice more recently with his new drummer who was brilliant the second time around. Not as good as SW but only young still.

Weller's last 2 albums blew me away by the way :).
