Can anyone shed some light on this please? Model and age etc. is it likely to have been re wrapped etc. It looks in a state of bad disrepair. Id like to buy it to restore and use.

Cheers.

You mean this drum is English made or are you stating that I am English? Which side of the pond are you on??

From what I understand about English Rogers, they were marketed by the same company that marketed Hayman over there. I believe they were Hayman (or possibly Premier) shells with Rogers hardware fitted. I've also heard that the Rogers hardware for England was made over there under license and does not interchange exactly with the USA made hardware.

And that's about all I know about English Rogers.

Ok that's brilliant. Its a start anyway! I'm moving from a Roland TD-12 back to acoustic and want to get a vintage kit but on a tight budget. This 'Rogers' kit is one of a 4 piece matching kit in 20/12/16. I think it may be overpriced though.

Even if it is old premier or otherwise re badged it should be better made and sound nicer than a modern cheapo kit?

Opinions?

British rogers drums have a horizontal rogers script badge, unlike the american diagonal badge. Also the brit shells are 3 ply birch AJAX shells with a clear laquer on inside.

As you can see, some of the bread and butter lugs on the snare are broken. These lugs are fragile-I would not call these drums "road worthy"for that reason alone. And I've heard the modern repro's are very expensive.Over here alot of Rogers guys replace the B+B's with later Rogers beavertail lugs. But,I don't know if English Rogers and American Rogers lugs have the same footprint.

I think that particular kit IS overpriced for the reason stated above - it has BnB lugs on it. Ive owned a english rogers snare with those on, they cracked and made it almost impossible to tune. If you are lucky enough to find one of the last UK kits, itll have the better beavertail lugs fitted.
