Here are a couple lugs I pulled off this 14x14. Did Slingerland ever make lugs with no raised post?

Not sure of that, maybe in later years. Looks like they repositioned the lugs, that is a mij shell.

Star made lugs are identical to Slingerland Sound King lugs. There are many unscrupulous sellers on ebay that sell them as Slingerland. The chrome is not as heavy and not as smooth on the MIJ lugs, And that is indeed a 3 ply shell. Too bad the top ring is missing, it will eventually crush that shell. And yes, the hoops are S/S, but not Slings, they too are MIJ.

Ok, Your Floor tom leg mount's look very much like 60's Camco an inside photo will tell me if this is so..The lug's are Copy's of Slingerland,Slingerland lug's would have a tip sticking out were the screw goes into the lug's,your's look flat...Mikey

Thanks for all the good info guys. The lugs make sense that the MIJ ones have no screw post and are from what I noticed a touch smaller in size. I am wondering how you tell the stick savers are fake and MIJ? I am not questioning anyone, just trying to learn. Thanks

That is correct. As I posted before it was a rewrap w/ extra holes and was not done well. If I was going to do something with this shell I would do a new rewrap. It is probably junk though.
