Thanks for the info. I might take some of the lugs from the other drums and build a 3 piece with tops and bottoms. So have a 22" 13" 16" then add a snare.

Please don't drill those Ludwig shells and add the pickups for the Roland stuff. That would be bad. I agree with Poppy, either put yourself a kit together out of what you have and sell off the leftover parts, or just part the drums out. But, please don't junk up a good set of drums with all that 'stuff'. You can't really hurt the entry level kits, like you have your pickups in now, and with the -V- stuff you can make an iffy kit sound like anything you want. :2Cents:
Thanks for putting up with my whine... :)
I know your very proud of your "V" drums. This is a Vintage drum forum. here we are all about vintage acoustical drums. Some day in a galaxy far far away your "V" drums may be vintage,. there is a digital drum forum, as you already know. You should show your new kit there.I have a digital kit and when I have a question about them I go to the vdrums.com forum. It seems like your just here trying to get price info for your old luddys.
The wire is hooked to a 1/4 jack and it runs to the Roland module. Then you run midi out of the module to computer software. Look at this guys kit. His drums are running a Roland module only.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94GvFfTU2HcHere is a guy running Superior Drummer 2.2 the sounds are better than the Roland sounds. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xl7C_Sr0uZw

Where are you ? just sell them as is to one of the fine folks here or myself and be done with em.. I have to agree , that I hate triggers electronics heck I even refuse to use or have anything to do with a click music should come from people and drums are the oldest instrument ever played...
Slick forum members again here.. First off, WHAT are the sizes of all the drums? Thanks, I'll respond later..
Somewhat-banal set of PDP's you've turned into a set of drum triggers. There are several reasons why I'm salivating over the Ludwigs much more than those shelled triggers.
If you do anything with those Ludwigs they would make an excellent studio kit. I've seen several cases of vintage Ludwig drums that were used in studios that would make you very green with envy. So in my opinion you should try to find some more lugs and just strip that butt-ugly black re-wrap **** off of there, and either use it for the rewrap, and restore all the drums with new heads, or just sell everything.
I'm closer with Jaye on the initial estimate, but I think that may be a 14" floor tom which would make my estimate higher and could really make this more interesting and possibly better.. For several reasons, which may be explained after you tell us what sizes they are. You have a silver sparkle wrap over the bass hoops. Suggestion would be to go with silver sparkle if you want to "Do it up right" as a restore.. But my initial suggestion would be to get some replacement lugs and restore the set as a studio kit, in which case getting a wrap would be a ridiculous waste of money. Also a restore would involve putting badges on them, and that would be a waste of time as far as I'm concerned.
You don't really need to think like a Vintage Drum Forum member to appreciate a great-sounding set of Ludwigs for studio use. I bet there are at least 3 times as many sets of Ludwigs in studios worldwide than any other drum brand. The would make your PDPs (Rightly turned into drum triggers BTW) sound like Doo Doo, by comparison. Thanks for sharing.
All this being said if you're just out for quick cash then go for it. Maybe we'll talk to you in a few months or years the next time you stumble upon something.
OK here is a update. Well 3 of the drums 22" 16" 13" are painted off white inside. I couldn't find a date on these 3, I did pull the wrap back on all 3 and found the original wrap under it still in very good shape with glue on top. I can't
tell if its gold metal flake or silver. The glue looks like a orange color. The port holes are missing the ring inserts.
What year do you think these are than?
The other 2 are the 22" and 16" has a clear coated inside. I found the date on the 16" tom only out of the two. They both have a dark walnut look to them under both of the wraps. Its the wood color. The bass drum looks like it had a tom mount on top. How would i ever match the original if i wanted to.
The date on the tom is June 24 1969
Here is a picture of the color under the wrap.
looks like these had wrap that someone pulled off and rewraped them. Look at the seem on the shell. Is there evidence of the old wrap going under the seam?

Well I know the black is a re wrap. The wood looks like a stain color or is that walnut wood.
So do you think I should restore the 3 matching ones as a three piece. Or is the other 2 with clear a better route and use the 13" tom with the off white shell with them.
I am wondering if I can still save the original gold sparkle wrap on the three. Is there something that would take the adhesive glue off without hurting the original wrap.
