Rogers Big R CL score

I just arrived home from a guys house a few blocks away from me. Saw he had a set of Rogers on the CL today. They were on there less than a hour when I got to his house. Silver wrap. I have not got them out of the car as it has just stopped raining. Will do it now and post pics. Also got some stands and A ZIldjian cymbals. Foot pedal. Serial # on one drum is # 0711218. Ok have them in the house. I have noticed some small cracks in the wrap around th elugs on one drum. Bass and Floor seem fine. Has the grey interior. Don't think the bass hoops are original? Got some nice new beat Avedis ZIldjian 13" hats, 18" A Zildjian Medium Crash, and Medium Ride. I am still trying to find the stamp on the 21" ride but it looks and sounds like a Zildjian. I had a hard time seeing the stamps on the other 2. No keyholeing on any of them.

Also a Mapex Foot Pedal, Tama stool and Hihat stand. Nice Gibralter snare stand. Sonor CYmbal stand, Pearl & Sound Percussion boom stands. A new Verve Percussion snare drum. Upon further inspection and setting them up somewhat playable it seems all the memory locks are here for Both Spurs, bot tom arms, Bass drum tom mount. There is like a cymbal holder in the middle of the tom mount missing the cymbal rod. There are 2 tension rod type screws that secure the cymbal holder and 2 that secure the toms. 4 total. 2 are missing and one hole seems to have something in. I think they put a hex screw in there. I can get it out I believe. Nothing is stripped it doesn't seem. Still checking it out. Waiting for Ploughman. I wonder if this is a Londoner set by the type of tom holder's and mount? The Evans heads are good and can be cleaned up as well as the Ambassador Reso's. Bass drum heads look new.

Ploughman has all the info for you, Im certain he will chime in. I bought a big r kit a few weeks ago. They ended up being XPS,s. I need some parts for mine still and they will need new wrap but not bad for 100.00

I can tell they are nice drums but I don't know anything about Rogers Drums except what I have seen on here. I have always wanted some for my collection. Wanted the script logo ones but hey. I grabbed these. I don't think I got hurt on the deal but either the drums or cymbals are going to have to go. My wife is in NY and back Tues. I am skiered. What would you guys do. Keep the drums or the cymbals. I am really set with cymbals. These are some nice one's though. The 18's are really nice, the hi hats too. The 21" sounds great. I might want that one. Don't need the hardware but will keep the Gilbralter snare and Sonor cymbal stand. If I can sell the snare and all the rest maybe it will pay for the drums. This would make 9 sets and I am running out of room. Someone taped a x with Anchor 57 tape on the inside of the reso heads on all the toms and they are tuned high, tight. The residue on the inside head from that tape is gonna be hell to get off.

Vibes, can you take a pic of the tom post. I have the peice that goes into the bass drum and I have the arms that go into the toms, but I need whatever part that connects them and dont know what to look for. I also need legs for the bass drum and the floor tom just like yours.

I have been told that these Rogers drums are really good, yours are way nicer than mine are, nice score!

Here I dug this up for you

Those are nice drums! Cymbals too, but what was your total cost? That will help people decide whether or not you should sell the cymbals or keep them.

The wrap is lifting a little on the seams on the floor and one tom but that's a easy fix. A few hairline cracks in the wrap in just a couple places around lugs but nothing major. Yea JC let me get settled here and will get a better pic of the tom mount config. Will check out that link. thanks

ok, by Plowman's timeline they are D badge 83/84. I want to know if the bass hoops are original. Did they use metal hoops then? Plus I think they would have the silver inlay. Mine would look better with the silver inlay. If those hoops are not original I can surely find something for a inlay that will match.
