I agree Vegemite is an acquired taste.. However most Ozzies have taken to it by the age of two.. It is the chosen morning toast topping for "ankle biters" and as I recall the even the Army included it in our ration packs. I'll be having some for breakfast in around 5 minutes...

Here's my late fathers winter "warmer uppera" ..

Two table spoons of "Vegie" in a mug of boiling water , two shots of Bundaberg rum and stir with vigour..

Back to Purdie's Blaemires

Cheers

Over the ditch here it's Marmite that we go for. The nation was reduced to eating vegemite last year after the earthquake in Christchurch damaged the Marmite factory. It was one of the biggest stories of the year, I kid you not.

For those not in the know, it's a yeast extract that's a by product of beer manufacturing that we spread on our toast. It's roughly the same color as Purdie's Blaemires (see what I did there)

THE DRUMS HAVE ARRIVED!!!!!

Vinny - Excellent packing job, brother! Super-fast delivery too!!!

Here is a shot of the drums as they arrived for those of you who haven't purchased a drum set in awhile. It's exciting when the big boxes arrive on your doorstep, like X-mas in July!

... and of course, the first drum I looked for and found is my new Jenkins/Martin 5.5 x 14 Blaemire snare drum! Feast your eyes on this work of Art!

Jinx - Lord, she's a beauty! And it sounds perfect right out of the box! All I did was tweak the snare tension less than half a turn and it was right where I like it to be. The drum sounds AMAZING! I'm not going to add any muffling at all (Moongel etc.) simply because it doesn't need it. The drum is ready to play right out of the box. You're the best and real pro, Jerry. RESPECT.

More photos to come. Enjoy these for now.

I'm in Green Glass Heaven, boys!

Cool John

So glad you are digging it.

If you notice as you rotate the main body of the throw off, you can fine tune the wires even more.

I cant wait to see the whole rig set up.

Oh...and the 10" has been stripped of the wrap and it was a bear. I started the stripping then Greg did me a favor and finished it.

Black is the new black :)
