Howdy,

Since scoring a set of '65 Clubbies a few years ago, I've really fallen in love with these drums. They are currently serving double duty between two bands. I'd like to get a 2nd kit that I can leave at one of the rehearsal locations.

I'd like to put a kit together that's finished in a satin walnut or mahogany wood stain. Looking for a 12/14/20 (or 22) configuration. A gold/black duco kit would be great, but haven't seen many of these out there (especially with a 14" FT). So, if the kit has damaged or mismatched wrap, they may work out great. Also open to other wraps or lacquer finishes. Thanks.

To think that I used to scoff at the single-lug kits! Okay, not literally, but I was biased (brain-washed) from reading all those old catalogs and assuming "economical" or "student model" translated into lower build quality, components, and/or resulting playability/tone. Wrong on all counts!

Not only do these single-lug kits sing, but they have a distinct retro look that works great for my rockabilly and surf band gigs. I wish I had discovered the joy of playing these kits a long time ago! If I had, I'd likely have a room full of them by now. LOL

I have this 12,14,20 I could let go of. 12 and 20 were born together and have nickel hdwr. 14" floor was purchased separately to complete the kit and has brighter wrap and chrome hdwr. Unfortunately, the interior on the floor is painted black. The 12,20 have the original white interiors. These are still in as found condition and need a good clean up but the 14" looks incredible already. Feel free to message me if interested. $650 shipped for these.

I also have a 12,15,20 Club Date that is stripped and ready for wrap that I could let go of. I just have not gotten around to ordering the wrap and completing them. Floor is a converted 3 ply Ludwig 15 x 12 parade drum. I have everything needed except the legs and mounts for the kit. $375 shipped for this one.

Randy,

Thanks for offering up two Club Date options! I guess my preference would be towards the WMP kit since it has the 14" FT. I definitely like the look of the nickel hardware, so I'll try to price some lugs and hoops in the next day or so. They almost look too nice to refinish, so I'll have to take that into consideration. I'm really leaning towards a stained/lacquer/duco finish for this kit, but I don't like the thought of modding vintage drums that are already nice as-is. Starting with a handful of orphans in need of repair/refinishing is a different story. :-)

jaghog,

I'm sure your OBP kit is amazing looking. I've got drums with pearl, sparkle, and glass-glitter finishes... hoping to put together a stained/lacquer kit this time. If they were bruised and battered and needing refinishing, might be a different story. :-) Thanks for the reply!

Murph, I should have nickel lugs for the 14 but not sure on the hoops. If you would like you can pm me your number and I can let you know all the details and what I find on the needed nickel hdwr for the floor.

I hesitate to do this, but I have 20 14 12 shells, currently covered in carpet adhesive. It's gummy. I used it to adhere homemade silver sparkle wrap to the shells. If I take it off there I'm waiting until spring, if you take it off there the shells would be cheaper. The kick and rack were cracked and repaired [previous owner]. I'm in Canada so shipping could kill the whole deal. I have full set of casings, one side BD rods and claws, the rail mount, BD spur mounts and spurs, all chrome. No rods other than BD. No hoops.

Pics show assembled kit before carpet adhesive. I'll post a pic of the shells now only if you're interested. This would be some work and like I say shipping will likely stink, but we'd be looking at around 100 Canadian dollars for the three shells, cleaned up, and that's only 75 American dollars right now, with hardware at $5.00 or less CDN per unit [rods and claws are individual units].......I dunno!
