I got this crazy idea to make some wooden lugs with brass inserts for a custom kit. Has any one seen or know of any made this way?

That would be me. I started a thread months back.....search in Restoring Drums for:

wooden lugs (How'd they do that?)

I learned a ton about drum history from this project and was ultimately very pleased with the results I got. Hope you enjoy seeing my work, and best of luck if you pursue this style yourself, You can do it.
