I voted Gretsch but I have some 70s Ludwigs and 90s Yamahas, and, to be honest, I enjoy playing drums so much what brand I'm playing isn't that important.

it has to be luddys with (old 60's )gretch as a close second i love both drums but partial to Ludwig because they were my first kit as a kid in 67 /68 , they all sound nice its how you tune and skin them hek i can make a cheapo pearl set sound good with the right stuff so it has to be Ludwig hands down there's something profound about them...

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

I would have voted Gretsch until playing a Ludwig Jazzette for the past two nights. That kit may be the most fun I've ever had behind a kit! And a killer, unique sound.

'71 Ludwig B/O Badge 20/12/13/14/16
'72 Ludwig B/O Badge Jazzette 18/12/14
'65 Rogers Holiday 20/12/16

Awesome! Glad to hear it. I suspected you would love the Jazzette. You got a great deal on that one, man!

I voted Gretsch because I just got my first round badge kit 20/12/14 Champagne Sparkle and I am super into them right now. Last week I would have said Slingerland Radio King 40's era drums.

Ill take Gretsch though because when I am old and need to sell them to pay my doctor bills they will bring the most money. Violin

Slingerlands... because of RKs... or then, maybe Gretsch because of Louie Bellson... or Ludwig because of John Bonham... eh, what the heck.
