Mike, unfortunately the sound is disappointing right now. I have the original snares on it. There were originally 12 wires, but now there are 11. It appears that 2 of the wires are a little stretched or bent, so no matter how tight I get the rest of them, it sounds like the snares need tightened.

I'm thinking of putting on a new set of snares, but still keeping the original set so if I ever decide to sell or trade, I can supply the person with all the original parts.

I put REMO Renassaince heads on it because calfskin is out of my price-range right now. I do have the wood hoops for the calfskin heads that were on it.

Other suggestions of what to do are most welcome.
