I am just curious to see if anyone else has an Ugly duckling in their collection. My contribution to this thread is my Ludwig an Ludwig 6.5x14, 2piece shell with 6 tube lugs. Original strainer and buttplate have been replaced by Leedys long ago. The hoops lost the plating at some point and are covered in surface rust. The shell has a hard green substance and a film that wont let go. This drum has a voice like an angel but it isnt pretty. I showed you mine, now lets see yours!

Here is an old 1968 acro that wound up being my favorite snare drum. I cleaned and polished it but not interested in painting the shell or anything like that.

Thank you!

Very cool...notice how those early 6-luggers had a bead the size of Rhode Island...no P-338 holes so that must of had the strainer that was attached to the top rim, are there 2 small holes somewhere on the top rim?

Hi Mike, the holes are in the shell for both the strainer and butt. They are probably hiding under the grime in the pics. Since this drum is from your era of expertise, any idea on the age and model? Also, we always get to see your top shelf drums but do you ever get anything like this? Thanks
