I devised a pretty good cymbal rack. How do Y'all store your stands??

Hanging in the attic, each one from a screw I put into the beams. Keeps them tidy and it's dirt cheap.

I bought a 14" keller shell and cut it into 1" rings.

Nice. A cheaper option and just as stable is to use wood stakes from your local DIY store. Only takes 2 per drum. They sell a pack of a 12 or 18 for a few bucks.

The attic was my 1st thought. I got u there and rearranged it. My son and his friend cleaned it out for me about a yr ago. They got a whole bunch of treasurs to take home with them. I have it all decked with 3/4" plywood, and flood lights. I have a matco tools brake stool up there to scoot around on, but that dam attick stair way is just to dam much trouble for me. I had my knee replaced dec 2011. Its doing fabulous, but that little stairway sucks. I have all sorts of handles screwed to beams up in there too. I prefer a step ladder to reach my stuff. Im an ole **** for sure Y'all!!!! I got everything in the garage and extra bedroom, and can still Park Esmerelda in the garage!

I have a bunch of 4" PVC pipe cut into 30" sections (pictured above) for the stands I use or rent. The stands in the big storage tubes are all vintage mostly ludwig. I would like to see a pic of your snare rack. How many snares do you have??

Poppy,

I forgot all about putting photos together for you. I snapped a few the other day while at the shop. You can see the fabric in the out of focus shot (sorry, I was in a hurry). Once all the snares are put away, we just pull the fabric over them and they stay nice and clean. This is also an easy way to be able to pull out whatever snare you need at a glance and for my guys that don't know much about drums, all the snares are labeled.

By the way, that is a fantastic collection you have there!Bowing

The other day, I ran accross some free shelves. I got 2 of these. Each one holds 10 snares, and the best part is they look good enough to go in the living room. I had a orphan gretsch blackhawk 14" shell in the attic. I cut it into more 1" pieces to stack more snares.

WOW, you cats have put a lot of good thinkin' and work into your storage solutions.

I need to get off my butt and do the same!!

For now, I can get about 24 snares in this older entertainment center.

Got about a dozen or so stacked on wooden wine boxes in front of it.

The rest I have in cases or on snare stands around the apartment.

I've wound up with 100+ snares right now, so I need to start thinkin' in a better direction about storage like you guys have been doing.

100 snares + apartment = one very crowded but seriously cool place to hang out! That is commitment!
