I am looking into purchasing my first vintage set. I am looking at two "players kits" as they are not in perfect condition. Both are from the same era (mid 60s). I am looking at a thin shelled maple Kent in solid condition or a birch shelled/rering premier '58' in fair exterior condition but very good shell and bearing edge condition (a few extra holes in the shells though-after market add ons). Both are comparable in price. What is the better bang for the buck? Any insight is greatly appreciated.

Peace and a Groove,

T

Did you get the Premier kit? Another member here put an offer on it and it's sold now. Just curious. Should be a great player's kit. Premier made great drums.

I did pull the trigger on it tonight. I noticed there were 4 or 5 side offers given but I went ahead and offered the asking price of $275... Which I think is a pretty good deal. I didn't realize there were others on the site looking at it...maybe it was a good pick up after all.

Dude! No way! You beat be out of that kit! HA!!!!! (Well, didn't exactly beat me, I just had a brain ****.) Check thread in "for sale" forum for Premier kit on ebay. That really was a sweet deal that I didn't take advantage of, but glad I lost it to a forum member. It was worth it to lose now. And as your first vintage kit, you'll be stoked. Vintage is a special breed. Once you go vintage, you'll never want to leave. Congrats and enjoy.
