Thanks to David Letterman whose production company put up the money for the HBO version of this project.FYI

Yeah! I was surprised to see 'World Wide Pants' in the production credits. Good call at WWP to back Grohl's project. It's educational, history, music tech, intimate interviews with some of the greatest players ever and a Foo Fighters rock concert all rolled into one. I'm really digging it.

The Foo-Fighters are one of the few bands out there keeping the spirit of rock and roll alive and well. These boys can play.

Yes John! Dave and the boys do it "their way"! I love the fact that they still record onto tape, and not completely digital like most major label acts do these days.

PS..got to meet Dave and Taylor after a Foos concert here..Asked a cleanup guy if there was a Meet and Greet afterwards....he said yes..just go behind those curtains over there!...I didn't have a after show pass or anything.....Hung out there,and Dave and T came out...gave them both my business cards..and when Dave saw Camco listed on the back......he said ...."Camco! Nice drums!"

Man.. if I met Dave I would have to struggle to keep my composure I think! I would hope I could be cool, calm and collected.. Ever see Wayne's World when they both go back and meet Alice Cooper?!?! Bowing

I have to admit, it took me a little while to "forgive" Grohl for being part of the band that killed hair metal.....LOL.

With that, he is top shelf as a musician in my opinion. The speech he and Hawkins gave for Rush's indoctrination in the hall of fame was absolutely killer!

Not to mention he was jamming along side Alex Lifeson on the axe and it sounded awesome. I also like the videos of these cats jamming with Led Zeppelin.

Also, didn't he create the Foo-Fighters entire first album by himself and have to hire a band once it caught fire or something like that? Pretty impressive stuff.......

This show is on my radar. I am going to wait til work gets slower and probably just watch the whole series one long night....

There is actually some science to back that view... on an oscilloscope a digital signal produces a -square- sound wave. Analog signals produce a -round- sound wave. When the square wave hits your ear drum it feels harsh, as opposed to the fat sound of the round wave. There is real justification for your preference. It's why I prefer analog to digital. Digital 'sounds' sterile to my ears.

drumhack - Grohl had an albums worth of material and he formed the Foo-Fighters in order to record it. The rest is Rock & Roll history...

Yes the first album was all him in the studio! Also, check out his stuff with Queens of the Stone Age, particularly the album "Songs for the Deaf!" His drumming, as always, is top notch on that album!

My love for Grohl runs deep! This is "Them Crooked Vultures"- John Paul Jones- Bass (Zeppelin), Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age)... Absolutely, 100% Rock N' Roll!!!!!!

It's ok, Justin. Grohl is a powerhouse of a drummer. Great talent and showmanship. I love watching Dave play because of his big, exaggerated rock moves behind the kit, head down, arms up in the air. Reminds me a little of Gene Krupa. Grohl is a terrific Rock drummer.
