Sonic Highways - Foo Fighters Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Howdy All,

Heads-up! Great new music series playing on HBO. It's called, "Sonic Highways" written and produced by Dave Grohl. Two words to describe it... KICK-AS$!

The Foo-Fighters are going city by city and creating an album along the way. Chicago was the first stop and the first tune for the album to be produced is called, "Something From Nothing." It's about all of us. Anybody who loves music enough to make themselves go from nothing to something on any given instrument. As musicians we create ourselves, this tune captures that spirit. Crank the volume! Follow the series on HBO.

David Grohl was a huge influence on me back in the early 90's when I started playing drums. If there was one drummer that I could meet today, it would be Dave! I wish I still had HBO now... I'll have to keep up with the series on YouTube as they post. The Foo Fighters are one of my favorite bands of the modern era, no doubt!

It is a cool program I've seen it a couple times now. Grohl is way cool as a total musician, but I really dig taylor also.

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

Justin - Oh man, sorry to hear you don't have HBO, but even if you have to wait until it gets posted, it's worth the wait. Here's the trailer for you just to whet your appetite!

The documentary is great on so many levels. It covers history and players and my favorite part, it lets the viewer in on the creative process of the musicians. More than the history and the stars, I'm enjoying the behind-the-scenes exposition. Watching them tinker great music together from scratch, using quotes that great musicians made during the interviews in the lyrics of the songs. Brilliant stuff. Dave Grohl really 'nailed it' with this series.

I really enjoyed the Sound City documentary that he did a while back. If you haven't seen that yet, it's a must!

PS..got to meet Dave and Taylor after a Foos concert here..

Asked a cleanup guy if there was a Meet and Greet afterwards....he said yes..just go behind those curtains over there!...I didn't have a after show pass or anything.....Hung out there, and Dave and T came out...gave them both my business cards..and when Dave saw Camco listed on the back......he said ...."Camco! Nice drums!"

Thanks to David Letterman whose production company put up the money for the HBO version of this project.

FYI

Never play it the same way once.
