this is more than likely the Concert King model the size's it came in 15" are 6 1/2x15 and 8x15" were made from 1955-1962 yours with the black gold badge is 60's can't really tell from the pic but if it Is it is a 1960-1962 model it's called the Haskell Harr model.
Not the best pic, but it almost kinda looks like "SLINGERLAND" in block print on the badge. Maybe a 1953-56 "dogtag"?
I'd love to fix that thing up and take it for a spin.
Notroh.... did you rescue a truckload of drums from death??
Good for you !!
I'ts the solid brass badge. 3 ply? Maple?
If it's like the one in the attached picture, that dates the drum to roughly 1953-56.
DrCJW's Slingerland badge timeline is a handy resource for checking this kind of stuff. (Check out his other articles, too.)
You tell us -- you're the one with the drum! ;) If you can't easily tell by looking at the bearing edge, look at the interior of the drum shell. If it looks like maple, it could be a single ply shell. If it's mahogany, it's definitely 3-ply.
If the drum is a Concert King, the standard shell was 3-ply.
How about the exterior is obviously mahogany, so .... 3-ply it is.
I guess I missed that subtle detail. DOH
I think its a Concert Hall Model. I have one that is an 8x15", silver sparkle with COB hoops, 1966 date stamp with the P stamp as well. All you have to do is refer to the Slingerland Catalog pages on this site to ID it.
It's not a Concert Hall, they didn't have 3 point strainers on them or seperate lugs, and where in production from 1963-1977. this Mahogany drum is older than that!
