I supposedly have a Rogers 18" metal bass hoop. Got it from Don Carr in Boston years ago & he said it was from a Rogers drum. It's quite solid and had the Blue Onyx pearl on it. Anyone know if they indeed made metal hoops?

Probably a Rogers R-360/ R-380. Don't recall any Island Music 18" BD sets, but I suppose that's possible, too. They were mostly solid colors.

The Big R set I got a couple of years ago had metal hoops. Black. I have never found out for sure if they were original or not. I had the mount turned around in this pic , but you can see what I mean.

Standard issue on those five ply Silver Metallics would have been wood. black with inlays of silver tape.
