Rock of Ages

I went to see this instant classic and highly recommend this movie. It has the best soundtrack I have ever heard, at least since Top Gun, or maybe that Marky Mark movie about Judas Priest, and delivers NONSTOP 80's classics from start to finish. Anyone needing a jolt back to the best era of music need only to pony up the 8 bucks and sit back and enjoy. I threw up the horns at least twenty times during that flick, and they "Up the Irons" at least 750 times IN the movie.

It's a winner.......

Local radio show played a few sound clips of Cruise singing. I thought he was pretty good but really need to see the flick.

"Threw up the horns"?

Instructions for throwing up the horns:

1. Take your middle and ring finger towards your palm and lock them down with your thumb.

2. Extend your pointer and pinky fingers upwards.

3. Thrust your hand in the air, while holding this position.

4. Screaming, yelling or singing is considered advanced level for throwing up the horns.

5. Advanced head bangers can do this simultaneously with both hands!

Some of my friends are on the fence about this flick. I too find it difficult to take Tom Cruise seriously...in any vein. The music aspect really has me hooked though.

For about 3 years or so when my friend lived above a bar we would venture out to the roof and crank up some lovely 80's greats while we chugged Pabst. We also had Irish nights which, if you listen much to Irish rebel music, will inspire you to "revolt" and beat each other senseless with folding chairs. Ahh...the good ole days!

I agree, you can't go into this move looking for an Oscar nominee, but as for hot babes, the best musical scores EVER in a movie, you cannot miss with this flick. It is a big collection of cliche' and stereotypes, no doubt, but the era from which they gain their inspiration is the catch.

Man, I really miss the 80's.........

Tom Cruise = Blech!! My 80's Metal collection = Yes. No need to sit through one of his movies, to get my Metal On.
