I think he must be... many drummers at the "other" forum are expressing their thoughts about him...

Cheers

Yes, as a matter of fact, Robin did play the drums. He didnt play them every day but when opportunity come along he would sit down at a set and play them fairly well.

Not to offend, and please no body be mad at me, but i have seen many R.I.P.s and other threads on this forum, some drum related and some not, but...drum related or not.....its not a "vintage drum topic".

There alot of things talked about on this forum. So if we have to keep it all about vintage drums then there is alot of threads that need to be deleted. I think its ok to pay our respects here.

R.I.P. Robin. You will be missed.

R.I.P. Robin.

His passing deserves mention. That man made so many people laugh and forget their worries, even if only for a moment. Drummer or not, he deserves to be acknowledged.

Backbeatkeeper - Tommy, or Dave will delete this thread if they deem it to be improper in any way. It's not your call. You may be correct... but you're not 'right.' It's just rude to interject yourself willfully and repeatedly the way you do. We all heard you the first time.

John

Too many great drums to list here!

I like the improve nature of Robin. Nothing seemed scripted. Just like life. Ups and downs. No matter how yucky I feel physically or mentally, when I sit down behind the kit and pretend like I know what I'm doing all troubles disappear at least for the moment. Usually playing along with Beatles music. :)

Actually... Dave has very little to do with the "day to day" and "front end" running of the VDF. That duty falls to me. Thus, David deletes very little if anything here. That said though: BBK is correct in that this IS a Vintage Drum Forum, and he is just looking out for it to stay "on topic", as it were. For that we thank him! In this case however... the thread shall remain as it IS in the General catagory, and is harmless regardless of it's non-drum oriented content. We have a GREAT membership here!

I apologise I really did think this section was for general stuff to talk about as well as Vintage drum stuff. Robin like musicians was an artist and a master of his craft. I thought his passing was worth mentioning. I respect the rules of this forum and will from now on stay with in the topic.

You summed it up perfectly. I get that same feeling too. And I'm sure Robin did also when he preformed and had the entire audience rolling on the floor. Best drug ever.
