Record Price for 14x14 BOP FT??

Loading...

Well, I guess I've given up hope on ever procurring one of these. I'll have to be content with a 16x16 rewrap. Can hardly believe the price this went for. Lot of money for one floor tom (at least too rich for me). Maybe the lucky winner is a member here?

wow..prices are up..

I found a 1960's 20,12,14 OB kit in the early 90's at Philadelphia Music in (guess where?) for $450..and I am 90% sure it had the matching snare!Hard to remember exactly that long ago though...

I know I cleared a grand on it to a customer in Japan..he only collected Ringo kits I recall...

Who is having the last laugh now though?

I know $1000 is high for one floor tom, but these used to go for $2000, 3 or 4 years ago. The whole OBP market has come down quite a bit in the last 2 years.

If this BLUE oyster FT sells for the asking price it will raise the bar a bit. I've watched this one get relisted a couple times and I really want it.

It's older than the black one and in great condition. Cant' justify buying at that price though.

I have that on my watch list but could never pay that much for one drum. Even if I did have the cash I would have to wonder if the wrap would match my kit. I have heard that the wraps were a little different from year to year. And for that money, it better match real good!

Thank you!

Yeah that is a big concern of mine also. The wrap on this particular one actually might be too vibrant for my kit. It's a nice drum though.

I'm only wondering here. Looking at the way we think, at $1000 or even $2000 isn't the drum still only considered an Orphan? And would it not only bring your matching kit to orphan status too? Therefore the Drum has more value on it's own than with a kit it's been added too, and even maybe it's original kit too??
