Record Price for 14x14 BOP FT?? Last viewed: 4 hours ago

I'm only wondering here. Looking at the way we think, at $1000 or even $2000 isn't the drum still only considered an Orphan? And would it not only bring your matching kit to orphan status too? Therefore the Drum has more value on it's own than with a kit it's been added too, and even maybe it's original kit too??

How would you ever know it never came with the kit? . As long as it matches the other drums in color you would never know that the kit was pieced together.

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

Right and that is why one might actually pay MORE for that one drum that matches the kit AND happens to be from the same year. If that particular drum came up on ebay I would pay more for it than what I would otherwise believe it's market value to be.

I have a 60's Blue Sparkle Club Date with a 14" Downbeat floor tom. The floor tom does not have a date stamp and the more I look I find that to be the norm, so I would say for a 14" FT date does not come into play say as much as a badge number. I believe my kit (from the story I got from the seller) was sold together in the 60"s as a matched kit.

1965 Ludwig Super Classic WMP (22-13-16)
1965 Club Date/Downbeat Combo Blue Sparkle
Cleveland Rogers COB Powertone snare
1965 Ludwig Supra Snare

I had that EXACT set once. the 20 and 12 had nickle hardware and the floor tom was chrome. The 20 and 12 came together date stamped july 1965 and the super classic floor tom was feb 1966 which I added on. I also had a matching pioneer from July 1965 and a 1960 blue sparkle 4x14 trans badge that I used with it as well. It was a great sounding set but it was sold years ago. I still miss it sometimes.

Great set you have!

That's funny!!Laughing H But considering that he owned the 14" BOP for only one year (1963) before replacing it in 1964 with the 16", I doubt he ever hit the 14" at all except to tune it. I can't think of a single Beatles tune in 1963 that reveals a FT hit, but I'm no Beatles expert.
