I just got home from a drum roadtrip. I scored a BDP Stewart kit w/ all Swivo hardware: 2 cymbal stands, bass drum pedal and hi hat stand. The cymbals were mostly MIJ, but there is a Tosco hi hat cymbal and a Zyn with rivets. They are handy for effects cymbals at very least. But the incentive was the Powertone snare and it's in perfect shape. According to my serial guide it would be 1968. The serial is #195xx.

Hey Wayne! Yes it's 14x5 .The pricetag on the swivo pedal is $8.10! I got a nice vintage Latin Percussion cowbell w/ Premier mount and a cool Duplex brand woodblock w/ bass drum mount. I'd never had a Swivo pedal before and my initial feeling is that i may like it as much as a Speed King. Haven't tried out the swan leg hi hat stand yet. I need to clean it a bit first and i've already been scrubbin' since i came home from rehearsal. The boys in my reggae band are starting to call me "Vintage Dust".

Wow, that snare looks nice. I had scored a swivomatic pedal with my Beverley kit and it was in great condition, with the bass drum clip, nice action, but the footplate was lower than my hi hat foot plate and felt a little odd. I put it on the for sale section here cheap not knowing what it was really worth and it was grabbed immediately. I have regretted it ever since. Especially since I just got a script Rogers kit. But with the matching hi hat stand the pedals will be even feeling.
That PT looks really clean, nice score.

Those are great snares. Nice tuning range too. My old one did whatever I asked and then some. I miss it. Congrats that's a very nice one.
Not a guru just havin fun with some old dusty drums.

I'm loving it! I have a 1968 Dynasonic too, so it's neat to compare the 2 COB offerings from that year. The Powertone seems a little more versatile than my Dyna tuning wise, whereas the Dyna is very focused and precise. I'm still exploring all the crazy adjustments on the Swivo pedal and hi hat stand. Those engineers over at Rogers were some far out dudes!

COB Powertones are great drums. I like playing mine. I believe I've said this before, but a few session greats in Nashville used them for years so the sound is probably on quite a few hits out there. Enjoy.
