Possible optical illusion - how big is this cymbal Last viewed: 1 hour ago

From auto.pilot

Mystery solved. The bass is 20" and the large cymbal is 22". All of the cymbals are stamped 'Japan' on the inside of the bell. I was really hoping that the large one would be a nice surprise, but it is not. Pictures to follow after I clean it all up. Good: there's not a single scratch on the wrap. So far, they have cleaned up very nicely. The color is deep blue, about the shade of new dark blue jeans, with sparkle. The chrome lugs and hoops look very nice. A total of 2 lugs have scratches on them, that's it. The snare sounds really nice, even with the old heads. The shells are graduated thickness. Snare and rack tom very thin, floor tom thicker and bass even thicker (just like today's high end Gretsch: haha). One of the cymbals stands is vintage ludwig. Bad: The floor tom is missing 3 tension rods, which are metric threaded, so none of my spares will fit. One of the bass drum t-rods is bent and likely not usable (see my wanted posting). Other than the one Ludwig cymbal stand, the hardware is very thin/cheap. The bass drum pedal is marked 'Pro' or some such nonsense. Unknown: Do these cymbals have value? The tone is unusually dark. Even the largest ride has very little ping. Hard to describe, since I've never owned any before. I can't find anything like them on the bay. jim

Jim,Your Bad is my Good, I have the t-rods that you need..On the cymbals these are made of brass.I would add them to another set -{if you are going to kkep this set}-and add 50.00 to the set you are selling...Mikey

These Werco drums cleaned up very nicely. The color is not entirely uniform, but the shells don't have a single scratch on them. Pay no attention to the grime on the cymbals & stands. It's only there to make the drums look better!
