Oh man that hurts!!! Laughing H you should see some of the guitars my son gets in. Some beautiful and expensive vintage Gibsons and Fenders that have been spray painted over various finishes by previous owners. I hope you can rescue those Vista's Lynn~! Clapping Happy2
I imagine he has seen some bad ones.
Lynn, I wish you all the luck in the world. Then we know they would be going to an owner that will appreciate them. Spray painted hardware and all you say! Wow, I knew it, spray paint. If you get them, Glenns printing press cleaner just might be very usefull.Jeff C
Yes, sir. Hardware and all! I'm hoping I can pry them from his hands so we can find out what works to get that crap off. Thinking Glenn's trick may be a good one.
By the way, I never get tired of seeing those lime green drums, or is it mint? Anyway, they're beautiful!
Thanks to both of you for the good luck wishes!
Lynn
Jeff indeed the red paint is very stubborn. It's perfect for this test though as most of these shells have been painted over for years. I figure if someone gets a painted wrap kit they really want to save this may be a option to help them. There may be some paints that come off easier than others. Matt from CT Pro Percussion sent me a pm. He has a nice sheet of painted wrap for me. I plan to head up there next week. These pre painted wraps are the best tests. I'm going to have my son paint some of the WMP wrap I did earlier. I'll let them all cure for several weeks and try them. I'm also going to let some sit for a few months and maybe bake in the sun come spring. It's a long term project. :)

Man I don't know how I missed those threads but some beautiful work there Jeff! Cool1
Hey thanks Lynn, it was called lime green but its not a true lime green. It got alot of attention around here.
Glen, thank you also. Thats just my regular clear lacquer with some sparkly stuff thrown in, no big deal. Dont know if I provided a link to the product but here it is,
The copper and lime green both came from there.
Have a good day guys!
Well.........home sick today (fever n sore throat) so I won't know the results till tomorrow. Incase anyone was wondering. I'd imagine a good 48 hr soak will really tell the story. Hoping for the best here too.
Thanks for the tips.I am thinking about doing some wraps on my 77Westbury kit.
Hey Glenn, sorry to hear your under the weather. I suppose we can wait another day,,,well,,,ya Ok we will wait. Get some rest, have a beer, or have a beer the rest, or just rest.
Thanks Jeff just a minor setback. I was going to bring everything home with me but decided to just leave it there for now. Yep just soup and hot tea for me today. :) We'll be back at it tomorrow!
