I phoned my good friend, Jim Petty, yesterday to ask for help installing new snares on my Pink Glass Glitter Shelly Manne snare drum. He said to come on over. Jim's garage has been converted to a machine shop/drum repair facility that is like Santa's toy workshop for vintage drum lovers. The workbench he was using for small repairs yesterday had been moved out to the driveway. When I took the Leedy snare out of the drum bag, it screamed: "P-I-N-K"! Indoors, the color is subdued. I was so knocked out by the brilliance of the color in the sunlight that I took it out to my back yard at about 7:30 PM. I sat it down on top of my barbecue grill, and took a few pictures with my cell phone camera. How's this for pink?

Jim Petty taught me how to install a set of snares on a Radio King/Shelly Manne throw, butt plate, and snare bridges. It is not easy. but the results of a proper installation are terrific.
