Is the 13" Gretsch 6 or 3 ply?

Never play it the same way once.

I know much of nothing about gretsch. what are the tell tale signs for the 3 and the 6? anything other than trying to count plies?

ive got it setup with my sky blue pearl clubdates right now. could work as a main ride or a left side ride. ive got it on the left even though its heavier than what I usually play. the bell is very musical. center hole area is kinda flat like the earlier hollow blocks from the 50's,slight hint of a keyhole. has some nice variation in the lathing. one little flea bite on the edge. beautiful natural patina. the ride is very clear and defined. when it first crashes, it has some nice volume. but then, the crash disappears pretty quick. the edge actually has some flex even at this weight. that tells me that a lot of the weight is in the bell. sorry to ramble. I love vintage avedis cymbals. wish I could keep them all!

would be quick getting to you as well as i'm in south carolina...

6 plys are all about equal in ply size...3 plys always have a much thicker INNER ply and 2 thin outer plies...don't count the wrap ply

Remove a lug and count the plies visible in the hole...
